1 A mod is short for modification. It modifies certain things of a game to alter the gaming experience. Glitched to Death is actually a socalled Total Conversion. It doesnt use original levels, chracters, weapons or anything like that, Everything is made from scratch, why all this trouble, because G2D (Glitched to Death) has not a lot, if anything, in common with HL2 (half-life 2)

2 I am making a mod for half-life because it will probably be easy to modify, since a SDK (software to modify HL2) will be available when HL2 is released.
Second, a lot of people who buy HL2 will download mods for it since the first Half-life was famous for mods like Counterstrike and Team Fortress.

3 G2D will have both single- and multiplayer modes. In singleplayer you will progress through increasingly harder levels and beat high scores, which you can mail to me so ican organise a competitive scoreboard and ranking system (amd a lot of other things that i cannot say anything about yet.)
In Multiplayer you will not attack your enemy directly but if you play well, your enemy will get more objects to shoot and if he cant keep up any more, you win. Anyone who has played Tetris multiplayer, will recognise this kind of multiplayer.
More Multiplayer modes are in development.

4 The gameplay will be VERY different from HL2 and every mod ever created.
You are in an abstract world like those seen in TRON, Vib Ribbon and Rez.
You will be able to move and look freely but there is no up, no down, no left or right, no walls or ceilings, just pure empty space, in a number of funky colours off course.
(spacecombat games meet The Construct from the Matrix or The Hyperbolic  Timechamber from Dragonball Z)
Objects appear and fly towards you. objects make a sound when you shoot them and different objects make differents sounds.
The objects appear in a certain rythm so you got to shoot them in that same rythm.
If you shoot a number of objects, that sound and rythm is added to the background song.
SImple: you shoot objects, creating a rythm.

There will also be a unique and intelligent gameplay mode that will adept itself to your skill, if you shoot fats, the objects will appear faster, if you cant keep up and shoot slowly, the objects will appear more slowly, etc.

5 The levels of difficulty wil vary from very easy to impossibly frantic. shoothing 10 objects per minute flying slow is much easier than shooting 120 objects per minute moving incredibly fast and coming from all directions, even up and down.

6 You get to make different fifferent types of music, depending on the level of difficulty. Slow loung will be easy while frantic jungle and drum 'n bass songs will be much harder.
simply: The more complicated the music, the harder the level nad vice versa.
The music will range from electronic to rock and roll.
The music will be produced by me, but i will try to strip some populair songs aswell.


7 My musical influences are, amungst others, The CHemical Brothers, Lamb, The Basement Jaxx, Fatboy Slim, Blur, Oasis, Goldfrapp, Propellerheads, U2, Underworld, The Prodigy, Junkie XL and a LOT more!

8 game influences are: Rez, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Vib Ribbon, TRON, Spacecombat games, Half-life 2, Astroids, Tetris and all the other games i forgot.

9 I decided to mod G2D when the idea for a musical mod came to me. I did a few things like level design, scripting, modding, programming and website making. but always without a purpose so i quit with it fairly soon. Now i just want to make G2D into a succesful mod that other people will enjoy as much as i will enjoy making it.
There is such an amount of people wanting to make overambitious and unoriginal Total Conversions with 200+ vehicles, 100 classes, 1000 custom skins textures, huge interactive maps  with realistic NPCs and AI and 128 player multiplayer modes and realistic graphics and weapon ballistics accurately modeled and all that other bullshit, no offence to anyone though...
My mod is simple and do-able and ofte 20 times more original becaus there are litteraly hundreds of mods that are just counterstrike or battlefield 1942 clones in one way or another.

10 The minimum specs are unknow now, as the specs for HL2 are uncertain, however the specs are very likely to be very reasonable as there are no highly detailed and complicated textures or animations.

11 you play nothing, you dont get to see yourself probably, although third-person views are imaginable., maybe some astronout that found life on some distant planet and then got some alien LSD from the tripping extraterestials and got in some weird, abstrad dream/trip...
nothing confirmed here though.

12 There wont be any cutscenes, since there is no story (yet).

13 no, at least not yet. 

14  Yes, there will be unlockable stuff as i am a great fan of it, it depends a bit on how the HL2 SDK will allow me to do all this but i am pretty confidend that i can provide unlockable: songs and levels, new modes, new weapons, artwork and other stuff.

15 No, maybe an upgradable jetpack or some thing, it all depends on my mood and character design, could be unlockabel though...

16 I am Sven and i am the modleader, coder, programmer, designer and sound artist that is developing G2D.
I am making this mod alone since i am a controlfreak and i wanna do everything my way, i appreciate reactions though, so please mail me at glitchedtodeath@hotmail.com

17  A release date is unknown, since neither HL2 or the SDK are released yet.

18 Off course you can! When i have testable versions avaiable i will tell you more.

19 I got the idea for a music mod, but i didnt have a name yet and Music Mania or anything like that seemed boring, so i somehow came up with Glitched to Death. I find it rather amusing and it sounds interesting, so i hope loads of people will try to find more abou this cool named mod.
